Hi, I’m Michael ambron.

For nearly a decade I have worked as a paint maker and raw materials specialist in New York City. Through this practice I’ve had the opportunity to instruct some of my artistic heroes and provide educational services to both institutions and individuals alike. My mission is simple, I want to use my knowledge of raw materials to help others explore the possibilities open to them by making their paints and mediums from scratch.

My Approach

Through hands-on workshops, private consultations, and on-site demos, I offer participants the tools, materials, and strategies to achieve greater independence in their creative practices. Each session begins with basic instructions regarding safe handling, storage, and disposal of raw materials as well as informational resources and product recommendations to help you along your paint making journey. All materials and tools are provided at the time of the workshop and participants are welcome to take home everything they make that day.
